If one needs external validation to have "purpose" or "meaning" in their life, then you immediately know they are inner-directed and longing for comfort that will say to them "you are destined for greater things...in another life." You can also assume that they really want to feel positive reinforcement of their pre-conceive and suckled "beliefs"...it is far more important to TELL OTHERS they are wrong than to silently await confirmation that they are right. The end is nothing, the means are everything and there is no service or good intent involved.
