Trump, without evidence, already claiming Gavin Newsom recall election is 'rigged'

Former President Donald Trump, who is still banned on most social media platforms for pushing thoroughly debunked voter fraud conspiracies related the 2020 presidential election, called into Newsmax Tuesday and offered some fresh new evidence-free conspiracies regarding the Gavin Newsom recall election.


"It's probably rigged," Trump said. "They're sending out all ballots, the ballots are mail-in ballots; in fact, I guess you even have a case where you can make your own ballot. When that happens no one is going to win except these Democrats."

Trump offered no specifics save for his "make your own ballot" line, which appears to be a reference to California's Remote Accessible Vote By Mail program, a seldom-used system that was created for voters with disabilities


The system allows those voters to "mark their selections using their own compatible technology," which can include having a computer play the audio of candidate names or clicking boxes as opposed to filling out bubbles on paper. In order to qualify for remote accessible vote by mail, a voter must contact election officials and receive pre-clearance.

I guess that's how the opposition is going to play every election from here on out. It feels like every one of these pronouncements should be met with an eye roll, but the narrative is seeping deeper and deeper into the American psyche: "Democrats can ONLY win by cheating." It DOES add up.

All those elected officials got together and decided that while their elections were squeaky clean and all of them were fairly and legally elected, they've outlawed all kinds of electoral foolery like banning drive-through voting and banning the distribution of applications for mail-in ballots.

11. I don't see why you can't make your own ballot

even though the state sends you a nice sturdy one to fill out. As long as you are registered to vote, turn it in to the correct county, and don't vote twice.

At least one county screwed up and sent the sample ballot in the same package as the actual ballot, causing some people to return the sample ballot instead. The SoS decided that that was OK, as long as they only sent in one: we try to encourage people to vote.

BTW, I've seen a grand total of 2 "No on Recall" signs around here, and one hand-written "Please remember to vote". OTOH, everyone I've talked to has already sent their ballot back.
