I've heard some of the reasons for the network like driverless cars. But of all the annoying things about phones, not downloading fast enough has never been a problem for anything I do.

(2,046 posts)Is the ability for device to device communications. For instance, your car can get sensor data from things along the roadway or can send/receive position and speed data to other cars. This is not implemented yet, but part of the standard. The 5G also has higher data rates and allows more connections without a slowdown. Think of had bad coverage is/was at a football game with 100,000 fans all trying to watch YouTube
