(17,884 posts)At least that's where their HQ is. J&J and Pfizer are global. Most production of vaccines and other pharma is global. Other than some mid and small cap companies, no one's really just US or any other nationality anymore. Back in my pharma days, nearly half of our production was in Europe, though we were officially a US company. Or an "Irish company" depending on the taxes.

(11,605 posts)Which is unfortunate, because some of them are more traditional attenuated vaccines that my vaccine-hesitant family members say they would take if available. Unfortunately, some of the companies that make those vaccines were denied EUA on the grounds that we already have enough vaccines, and have to wait for full FDA approval. Covaxin in India is one such vaccine, if I recall.
