Accountant stole $750K (in one year) from employer to gamble online

A New Jersey accountant embezzled more than $750,000 from his former employer and used the stolen funds to gamble online, authorities allege.

Mark S. Bloom created a PayPal account and began moved company money into it early last year while working for Angelico Guitars of America, a musical instrument manufacturer in Colts Neck, the Monmouth County prosecutor's office said Wednesday.

Bloom transferred money from the company’s American Express business account and its PayPal business account into his own PayPal account, the prosecutor’s office said.

Bloom, of Shrewsbury, is charged with second-degree theft by unlawful taking.
