The Panama Canal was upsized years ago, I wonder if the Suez canal was?

I was doing a fun read on shipping containers, since a lot of people are buying used ones for cheap housing.

turns out, because of the stuck Evergreen ship ripple effect, the charge to send your product in a shipping container has gone from 300 bucks to over 1,200 bucks, and now higher because filled containers are piling up at ports because there is a severe shortage of truck drivers to haul them away, and there still ships waiting to get into ports to off load more.

we are experiencing shortages of goods now because of that and from decreased overseas manufacturing because Covid.

shipping goods by airfreight is faster, but much more expensive, and most air freight is via passenger airlines, which have been severely curtailed because Covid.

global marketing has downsides, it turns out.
