Doctors Across the Nation Unsurprised by Emergence of Mu Variant, 'Here We Go Again'

The Mu variant of the coronavirus has officially been detected in every state but Nebraska and while many may feel a sense of defeat or burnout with the arrival of yet another strain, doctors across the nation told Newsweek they were unsurprised that the virus would mutate again.

"Within such a short time, we've seen the emergence of several variants of concerns and variants of interest. That's not unexpected," Dr. Bali Pulendran, a professor of microbiology and immunology at Stanford University, said.

The Mu variant, which was first identified in Columbia in January, was labeled as a "variant of interest" by the World Health Organization on August 30 after early research indicated the strain could be more transmissible and more resistant to vaccines.

"From just travel from [Colombia], it was not if the [Mu] variant was going to hit our shores, it was when," Dr. O'Neil Pyke, chief medical officer of Jackson North Medical Center, said.

Considering all the COVIDIOTs I'm not surprised either. In a perfect world it would only affect the willfully ignorant but unfortunately things don't work that way.

Preseason NFL games have not been shown to be super spreader events. If you have facts that say otherwise please share with us.

Outdoor events are safe.

Want facts?

Here are facts

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.boston25news.com/news/health/new-study-shows-outdoor-football-games-dont-pose-superspreader-risk-covid-19/FZOYRV6NFRHYNMOKYGN346YXLQ/%3foutputType=amp

The study analyzed hundreds of NFL and NCAA games, comparing games with in-person fans to games without fans in similar-sized counties, and researchers found there was no significant increase in COVID-19 cases following those games with in-person attendance in those surrounding communities.

“I feel like outdoors is perfectly safe based off of all the studies. I mean I’m fully vaccinated, so I’m very comfortable going to a game, and if someone’s uncomfortable, wear a mask or don’t come, but let the other fans go,” Welch said.

If you are vaccinated it is time to go back to living life.

(btw I do not go to NFL games)

And several hundred came back sick. Even if it's not a superspreader, it does spread when there are maskless unvaccinated people gathering together. People aren't being careful and acting like it's over.
