With this move by Dept of Labor to enforce a temp rule that any company (not individual location) with 100 or more employees must have in place a vaccination program or testing program, prepare for the nuts to lash out violently.
This is as close as they will need to view this as a National Vaccine Mandate before they go crazy. I had heard that something big was coming tomorrow, but figured this was the move to have all Federal employees vaxxed. I did not see this coming.
Be safe out there.

(46,772 posts)They have absolutely no idea what freedom is really all about.
And no idea what it means to live under a repressive government.

I want them to die down and shut up.

(68,539 posts)And they must bring vaccination cards to show they are vaccinated. They will get paid time off to get vaccinated if they have not already been vaccinated...no vaccine -you can't work. So yeah, I think it is already working.

(4,170 posts)But as far as social security somehow verifying vax status, I just dont see it.
And I hope your husbands company keeps a sharp eye on the vax cards. Did you see the thread about Highway Patrolmen making fake ones?

(68,539 posts)an hour for beginners with benefits. And if you are fired for cause, you don't get unemployment. Ohio law states that employers can insist on vaccines.

(4,429 posts)Under what legal authority is this being done? What law gives the President such legal authority to mandate vaccines and testing by executive order? And what is the punishment if the company fails to do so?
SoCalNative
(4,613 posts)the Dept of Labor to draft rules for this. He is not issuing an outright fiat via executive order.

(5,366 posts)That's all the authority he needs. As far as I'm concerned, anyway.
The same look on other POTUS's faces has sent the whole country into wars in the past.
Lawyers can argue all they want.

(5,366 posts)You feel sorry for young children who discover the world isn't the way they want it to be, and throw a 'Not Fair!' tantrum.
Adults who do the same, not so much.
But let them get upset. Really upset, nervous breakdown level.
It may burn out some neural pathways that lingered far too long from childhood.
