what happened to make the insurrectionists stop their intrusion into the Capitol Building and seeking representatives and senators? They already had established themselves in a majority area of the building. What made them stop and retreat?

reported that the shooting of that woman trying to lead the mob into the speaker's chamber was a turning point that slowed the forward momentum.
