I was looking at the COVID Act Now website tonight, and noticed this map of risk levels.
Pretty much all of the country is under the "high" risk designation. Eight states are in the "medium" designation. Eight states are in the "critical" risk designation.
Every one of the states in the "medium" category went for Biden in 2020.
Every one of the states in the "critical" category went for Trump in 2020.
Hmmmmm.....

(9,998 posts)Every state has had an uptick in cases and deaths, but it's been dramatically more significant in red states.
FL, TX, MS, AL, AR, TN, NC, SD, MO were some of the more significant upticks.
I'm in CA, and we had a brief spike, but #'s seem to be dropping now. We would have been in the moderate category for sure.

(892 posts)Unfortunately, I live in Tennessee, one of the reddest of the red states. My daughter recently moved to Jacksonville and is now living in the reddest of all red states. She and her boyfriend are Democrats and both were vaccinated, of course, but I must admit that I worry about her living in Florida.
I am not surprised that Biden-supporting states have better COVID numbers. Democrats as a rule, at least the ones I know, are generally intelligent and rational people. As for Trump supporters, well......
