Biden said he would listen to the scientists

but Fauci said he would have preferred the employees have no outs. Either get vaccinated or find another job. However, he said Biden wants to be more moderate. I think Fauci believes we would have a better chance of getting this under control without that out.

knowing that as they go, the rest of the work force will go. While allowing weekly testing as an opt out for private companies knowing private companies will likely not want to bear the cost of weekly testing and simply say, 100 % VAX onsite too.

It's an economic game.

For too many people, his first mistake has been listening to the science in the first place. Either that, or the fact that he is a Democrat. Take your pick.

This is a true public health emergency. Hospitals cannot handle the flow of patients. The infection and death rates are approaching January levels. Government must take the lead here, but it’s been hamstrung by a bunch of reactionary idiots, especially at the state level, who think “rugged individualism” is the way to go, or “owning the libs.” Take your pick.

Stop letting these fools dictate the narrative. Mandate vaccines, and quarantine those who refuse to get them — escalate the response from there, if needed. ENOUGH of this stubborn, ignorant bullshit!

You'll notice that since the vaccines became available, they have gone through a series of escalating steps to get people done.

Obviously the ones who wanted it/needed it the most were able or are now able to finally get it much more easily than in the past. However we are dealing with that last couple miles of this marathon and they have progressively done this -

1.) Made the vaccine available (FOR FREE mind you), at many more locations including smaller independent pharmacies, supermarkets, and doctor's offices, as well as even having "mobile" and "pop up" clinics.

2.) Offered incentives like lotteries, sweepstakes, free tickets to sports games and other events

3.) Expedited full approval of one maker's "BLA" (Biologics License Application - similar to a new drug's "NDA" or New Drug Application).

And that has captured a few more people but we are now left with the rabid anti-vaxxers and those who refuse to avail themselves for various reasons, not always "politically anti-vax" but often after internalizing misinformation (e.g., that they will have to pay for it and some schlock pharmacies have attempted to or have charged them or after experience with demands that they have health insurance in order to get a shot) or they suffer from "delusions of grandeur" about their "invincibility".

...and I'm fine with it. But mostly, I'm tired. If people want to put themselves in danger by not getting vaccinated, fine. You want to get together in public, un vaccinated and unmasked, fine. You do you. But you come up to me and call me, or my family "sheep" because we wear masks everywhere, just know you will get this work. Trust.
