Does A Person Receive Payment For Military Service Academy Boards?

How much and is that why they're all so ticked off?

1. I asked the same thing here yesterday and was told, no money, volunteer positions.

I wondered if the money was an issue for them.

But I would suspect they can file for expenses, so a way to scam the system.

4. Right. Soft benefits; connections of all sorts, expenses, travel, etc.

Also ego involved. They could act all high and might and sling the title around.

By law they get a grand total of 58 cents a mile (standard federal expense) if they have to travel for a meeting. I doubt that is "scamming the system".

This is simply a political dispute and nothing more.

12. This is a political game of gotcha by people above our level.

The federal government is full of these boards where the president and certain members of Congress can appoint political supporters to ego positions and they are not able to do any harm.

2. I heard it was mostly prestige. They get treated as VIPs...

at the academies. Get invited on campus for special events like the graduation spectacle, 50-yard-line seats at football games, and you get to rub shoulders and meet with other connected people, which of course can turn into opportunities.

No pay though.

5. No, but they earn a lot of Trump a$$ kissing credit if they throw a tantrum over it.
