https://www.npr.org/2021/09/10/1035885306/san-francisco-children-schools-vaccinated-covid-outbreaks-none-pediatric

There have been no COVID outbreaks in San Francisco schools since students and educators went back to classrooms on Aug. 16, the city's health department said — noting that about 90% of children ages 12-17 are fully vaccinated.
The department emphasized that vaccinations "are our best defense to protect children" — and said that most pediatric cases of COVID in the city came from unvaccinated adults in a household getting the virus and spreading it to unvaccinated children.

An outbreak, the department said, means there are "three or more cases in non-related households in which the source of infection occurred at the school, and not another setting."

While the department reported there have been 227 COVID-19 cases — out of 52,000 students and nearly 10,000 staff — the "vast majority" of those cases are occurring outside of schools.

Overall, the department said, the numbers of pediatric COVID-19 cases in the city have remained low throughout the pandemic, even during the most recent delta variant surge.

That's a terrific testament to how it's done! If we all had 90% vaccination rates the pandemic would be on its heals and we'd be celebrating and hugging strangers again.

Way to go San Francisco!!!

people are noting this.

Compare governors.

And how ironic that the one doing the job is up for a recall.

COVID-19 in schools: See which Tennessee districts are closed amid outbreaks, staffing shortages

"Barely a month into the new school year, several Tennessee school districts already have shuttered schools because of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic."

God I hate shallow-as-a-dirty-puddle Governor Lee. He's just loving spreading Covid to all the children.
