I chose a paper ballot instead of an electronic one. Straight Democratic ballot here. I had to vote to retain the state Supreme Court justice as I don't want my governor, Pastor Brownback, influencing the court with one of his right wing extremist appointees.
There was a line of 10 people ahead of me at the county (Shawnee) election office today and a small handful after me once I reached the front of the line. Three clerks were verifying IDs (thanks to Herr Kobach) so I was only in line for a couple of minutes. The line had dwindled to about four people behind me when I reached the front. I was the 112th person to sign the log for my division/precinct; but there were at least three other divisions of voters. I think the signature log was cumulative instead of daily, though.
Hopefully Obama can clear 40% in my state as I do not want RobMe to win by 20% or more. I doubt my Congressional district will flip from red to blue; but my district is the most likely one to elect a Democratic representative, even if those odds are remote.

(67,112 posts)3. We have ~ 20 judges on the ballot to retain or not. How does one get a vague idea of
which ones to vote for retention or not. I used to be able to find some websites to evaluate them, but now with the stupidity and shenanigans of Brownbackistan that review process was ended in 2011. I'm on my way out of KS this year, but I would like to do right by my fellow Kansans by helping to retain decent judges and helping to oust the others.
