HOLY CRAP! Cat 5 Typhoon Chanthu had a max wind speed recording of 219 mph! Edited to add photo

According to the NOAA "Radar Pro" app on my phone, anyway.

Another site says max gusts of 201, but still, this is a MASSIVE storm headed toward Taiwan.

Some place that hadamilitary base in the past and still had instrumentation. Boggles the mind.

6. I talked to a couple friends in Taiwan tonight

Luckily the wind has reduced a bit but still a category 5 now. I have been through a strong Typhoon before there and it was not fun, but at least they know to build most of their buildings out of concrete.
