getting digital vax record (QR code) process in California

State of California requires Proof of Full Vaccination or a Negative Covid-19 Test (taken within 72 hours of the event) in order to enter indoor events where attendance is expected at 1,000 or more. As a venue with a capacity of more than 1,000, we will be following this guidance, which is in place until at least November 1, 2021, for all performances. “Fully vaccinated” means your performance is at least 14 days after your final vaccine dose. Most California residents may request a digital vaccination record at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov

Ticket holders regardless of age must wear masks and provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours (3 days) of the performance.

To enter the theatre, please bring a photo ID and proof of vaccination, either your physical vaccination card, a picture of your vaccination card, or a digital vaccination record.

getting the digital vax record aint easy! myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov what's involved.. name, date of birth. dates of both vax, address of where vax happened. photo of vax card and photo of ID. 2 week wait. yes, i have the physical card. might as well get the digital now as we might reach a point where no one trusts the physical

Here in Germany, it was set up in the spring that pharmacies could issue a printed EU vax certificate when presented with a WHO booklet and the CDC (if USA) or RKI (German version) card listing the what, where and when of the vaccinations. I first emailed a photocopy of my vax info from Dallas to the health ministry, gave them a day to register it, went to my local pharmacy and presented them with the originals. They checked with the Health Department to verify, and within ten minutes, I had my EU vax documents with bar codes and QR codes printed on them. They work, as they have been checked numerous times when I have traveled to France and Switzerland (not EU, but still Schengen). My wife presented hers this summer to get into the USA and then back into the EU (she first landed in Schipol, as there are no nonstops from Boston to Düsseldorf).

I put all the info in for myself and my kids and got the digital vaccine record texted to me in less than 2 weeks. I keep copies of the family’s records on my phone and each of the kids has their copy on their phone. Well done California.
