Not til the news of forewarnings, no weapons of mass destruction, foolish war in Iraq. Then my mind was blown.

Even in my liberal area, there was strong support for both wars, Afghanistan more than Iraq, but decent support for Iraq, too. IMO, Michael Moore's movie Fahrenheit 9/11 woke a lot of people up.

and his post-9/11 speech to the nation was jingoistic hokum. As Bush voters, they were mightily offended. One of the few times they've ever heard just how opposite my politics are to theirs. Time has proven me right, but it doesn't make me feel any better.

I did support invading Afghanistan in 9/11's wake, I'll admit. I disagreed with the tactics, but I thought there was little choice in that matter, and knew Bush was incapable of seeing another path.
