Macias brother, Vong Serey, told the San Bernardino Sun last month that his sister was not vaccinated against COVID-19, and was hesitant to get the shot because she was pregnant. (17,152 posts)It would be irresponsible to make a connection between being unvaxxed and being parents of large families. However, these two cases do invite the comparison.

The majority of Israels most severe COVID-19 patients are not vaccinated, according to the head of Public Health Services Dr. Sharon Alroy-Preis. She noted the trend on the same day the US Centers for Disease Control released new data showing that unvaccinated individuals are 11 times more likely to die of the virus.
It is important to emphasize that the severely ill patients currently in hospitals are for the most part unvaccinated, Alroy-Preis said in an interview with Israels Channel 12. She added that almost everyone on a ventilator is not vaccinated ...

Just a few months ago, there were only five COVID-19 patients, at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. As of Thursday, there were more than 45.
Nearly all of these patients are not vaccinated, a reflection of "the amount of misinformation that's being absorbed, and taken as truth in our community because people are convinced that they don't want to be vaccinated, and then they end up here," Dr. Meghan McInerney, the intensive care unit's medical director, told ABC News ...
Idaho currently has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the U.S., with less than 40% of the state's total population fully vaccinated; the national rate stands at 53.6%.
"It's really hard to be a physician at the front lines, doing this every single day and living in a state where the vaccination rate is so low" ...

I just can not vilify this nurse in the face of news reports I read about her. Had she been a best the libs at all costeven my babys welfare I would feel differently. But she is simply a person who made a very poor decision that had tragic results.
