We are better off as a country with one of our former presidents' absence today

Perhaps he is in Jersey City looking for those he alleges cheered.

That being said, we can never be allowed to forget or somehow soften the memories of the pre-event inactions and post-event reactions of the former president on whose watch the events remembered occurred. The lens of 20 years later do nothing to redeem him.

They've attended many other patriotic events in previous years. I'm guessing age and fear of Covid are keeping them home this time.

As far as Chump is concerned, nobody wanted him there. And he didn't want to be there.

5. The Carters are certainly not forgotten

Given their age and health, I would have been shocked if they attended anything, even if something were held nearby to them.

4. He was outside Trump tower today glad handing people

while the remembrances that he refused to be a part of were being held 5 miles away in near the towers and other places.
