Organizers of a Kentucky rally in support of former President Donald Trump featuring several prominent allies and conspiracy theorists expected some 10,000 people to show up this weekend. Instead, less than 300 were in attendance when local journalists attempted to cover the proceedings.
The "We the People Reunion" was held at the Muhlenberg County Agriculture & Convention Center Fairgrounds in Powderly, Kentucky, on Friday and Saturday. MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, retired General Michael Flynn, attorney Lin Wood and others were among the featured speakers, according to the event and ticket page online.
Local channel WFIE 14 News sent a team to shoot video at the event on Friday but was later asked to leave, according to a report broadcast by the NBC News affiliate. The news channel reported that promoters had expected a crowd of about 10,000 people but less than 300 were in attendance from what their journalists saw. Event organizers reportedly refused to speak to WFIE about the rally.

Muhlenberg County is the place John Prine sang about in the song Paradise FWIW.

They've been going to Trump rallies for free for 6 years and they ain't gonna pay up for the B team without Trump.
And they aren't gonna pay for Trump if he charges either.

(36,247 posts)Generally, fewer is used when the number of things is counted ("fewer problems" ) whereas less is used when the number is measured ("less trouble" or "less time" ). However, this is not a strict rule and there are accepted instances of less being used with countable amounts such as "250 words or less," "3 items or less," and especially with money ("less than $20" ) and distance ("less than 3 miles" ).

How fucked up is that reality?
From what I've read, the "Welp" came about because Jim (giant jackass useless turd dumbshit non-funny swill-fetishist embarrasment-to-Canada) Carrey used it in one of his stupid movies.

(58,347 posts)it's time we stop this bullshit of "Oh, we can't put the country through prolonged criminal cases against former presidents" blah blah blah.
We absolutely have to. We skipped Nixon, and it's been downhill since then - it's like we keep kicking alcoholics and physical abusers out of the house, but the family never talks about them being alcoholics or abusers, and once they're gone, never acknowledges what they did. "hush hush - if you talk about it, it'll just make things worse."
Bullshit.
Put the fuckers on trial or something - whatever it takes to tell the world we take our laws seriously, and we're not going to sweep things under the rug any more.

There's a scene in the animated series Archer reamtime in which a hooker corrects a Treasury agent by saying "you mean fewer than". I've got to get an mpeg clip of that someday.
(As you'll notice in the OP, it's not a rigid rule.)

(22,235 posts)Depending on where you are, it is a you can't get there from here kind of place.
If you make a wrong turn and end up on a county road you are essentially toast.
At least while you are there you can visit the birthplace of the Everly Brothers and the home of the pig who lived in a house (ala Arnold in Green Acres)
I had to go through Powderly to get to college from my hometown - it was a wide spot in the road with a high school. I think it has grown and merged with Greenville since then.
KY roads were drawn using the pig paths and deer trails, except for the state or federal highways. Those county roads are killer. If you turn off at the wrong place you are toast. I don't recommend trying to find Paradise, since the world's largest shovel mowed it down. It is really in the boonies!
If you meet a combine on some of those roads you will have to pull over to the shoulder to let it pass.
LOL they probably stopped to tell the farmer his barn is on fire. It isn't - it's darkfire tobacco time and it's supposed to be smoking.

(22,235 posts)There isn't much need for large gathering places...the entire county only has 30,400 residents. Powderly population 745,
It appears urban sprawl from Greenville is creeping north and surrounded Powderly though.
It did say fairgrounds, so if it was supposed to be open air I guess that would work.
It makes me laugh every time I think about a TFG rally in freaking Powderly!!!
