These aren't protestors - these are Domestic Terrorist who are 'protesting' traitors being imprisoned for trying to overthrow the United States of America. They are enemies of the state.

The Capitol is a Federal building and sure it's in DC and has its own police force and then there's Metro. So yeah, armed police is available and probably enough.

However, across the pond, Buckingham Palace is ceremonially guarded by Guards units, which are the Army, plus London PD. It's a way to show that the Palace and the Crown are the national government. Here, the WH is ceremonially guarded by Marines in addition to their own police and Metro.

So, in a case like this, I wouldn't have a problem with military units showing a presence, although it would take some serious thinking about the layering.

attendance of Jan. 6 as people know the fencing is going up around the Capitol, all the police depts. will be on alert and the Nat'l Guard will be on stand-by.

Even magats know it's not worth getting a case and all the misfortune that entails for the orange turd's big lie. Hell, he of course will keep a safe distance, along with other pols who've already said they won't be there...Gaetz and Jordan for instance.

The hardcore minority were counting on the crowd to give them cover and act as human shields; many of those folks now realize how serious it got and won't be back even if they agree with the rally's purpose in principle.
