I'm betting the US Army is not willing to forgive and forget. I saw the video of his pathetic declaration, along with many, many others I suppose, which I'm sure includes some of his commanders it the army.

What does that couple think happens now, I wonder, things go back to what they were before the stupid stunt?

But she's not going to be able to have her expected officer's wife bragging rights within her cute/spiteful little church society/Q club meetings for a while.
And if they're moving to a small Kansas farming community, there's probably going to be some local ladies with long memories that will not be willing to give up their positions in the local social groups to the wife of a retired LtCol just because of his rank.
What might fly in Ft. Bliss probably won't fly in rural Kansas.

If he had, he wouldn’t have been able to sign that letter with a CAC card.

Wonder what prospects are for retired military guy who voluntarily gave up his pension?

And did she stay with him? That's not clear to me.

They can easily go on what I call the right wing talking circuit and make way more than his military retirement.

He did actually sign the letter on 30 Aug according to the DoD signature stamp. You can’t fake that. I still think this was all for show and that he and his wife are dumbasses…yes, he won’t get his military retirement but he will still get veteran benefits which is a biggy, plus I am sure he won’t miss his retirement because they are banking on going on the right wing speaking circuit (Fox News and others like them, events like CPAC, hate radio, etc..) where there is plenty of money to make, so him acting like he is giving up everything to make this stance is just for show

a relatively minor kerfuffle. It's not like he's a major, right wing figure.

Doing stunts like this makes you a major right wing figure. Twitter is full of theses types that have over 500,000K followers.

His reserve duty did not count toward active duty years; he relocated her and the kids to KS earlier this year pre-retirement as is common in military families (geobachelorhood)

He’s also an idiot who is banking on speaking gigs, a great post-military job and pushing his wife’s right wing nut job books- I suspect they’ll regret this dearly down the road especially when they’re older and she doesn’t have that “Cadillac” government health insurance. I wonder why he was okay taking vaccines like Anthrax, and didn’t just resign back then. How curious that it’s only a resignable situation when there’s a great political appeal.
