I was shocked to hear my doctor tell me

that members of our community have screamed at and harassed her and her staff over COVID-19, Delta, vaccines, and fake treatments. She's been screamed at for refusing to write prescriptions for ivermectin. Her children wear N-95 masks to school, but many other children and teachers won't.

I told my dr I was shocked to hear this, that I thought people here were smarter than this, but apparently I overestimate them. I told her and her nurse how much I appreciate them and their excellent care. Then I got my flu shot.

I actually enjoyed my part time job. My steady customers would actually look for me.

Yesterday I had my few remaining flower beds cleaned up. The young man quoted me a low price. Then when I went out to pay him he said,” You know,I have been thinking I like to do something nice, I am not going to charge you. My wife is a Nurse, we are not hurting.” Little did he know it was a couple of days after a milestone birthday for me.

We then talked about the vaccine. He became deathly sick in the service from a Malaria vaccine. He told me why he was hesitant. We discussed it. His wife had hers. I understood why he was hesitant. I am hoping he takes my advice.

But young men like him are our future.

I'm a guy, and most bullies are cowards, that's why.

I get yelled at by people upset about having to wear a mask in the clinic. But if they don't mask up, they have to get out. If they want their little aches and pains looked at, they need a mask. They grumble and complain, but they put the masks on.

when faced with an adversary that would give them a run for their money.

Case in point: years ago, on one of my many visits to my parents in Saudi Arabia while they were living and working as expats, my family decided to spend some time at a shopping center in a nearby town. My mom and I, dressed conservatively in pants and long-sleeved shirts, walked into a shopping center ahead of my dad, only for a couple of men to jeer at us when they noticed we were alone. When my dad joined us, they scurried away like rats.

term.

Almost all of these stories seem to be by men, who usually then regale us with how they have a “steely stare”, or are “built big” or look like they are “cut out of stone.” Then follows the story of the ass-kicking they’d give the harasser if the “steely glare” didn’t do the trick.

I’m a small woman, 60ish, and not one person has harassed me yet.

Most of these harassers are typical bullies. They really want "soft targets".
A sizeable guy is not a likely target, cut from stone or not.
Not about COVID, but I had the son of a cult member trying to give me noise about my flipping off his dad's T***p merchandise tent.
I'm not big and I'm nearly 65.
But, literally all I did was stand stock still, said zero, but stared at him constantly.
He walked away silently.
I wasn't a soft enough target, and I really didn't do anything.

She's petite and looks like a teenager. She wasn't hurt, fortunately, but he gave her a good shove. She called police and the cop took a report but didn't arrest him. She got the impression that the officer knew the man, but that was never said outright. She has another job now where she doesn't have to interact with the public.

many people are really fucked up

We know many of them are in denial.

I read how denial is a coping mechanism, a stress reliever.

It is a scary disease. The images we see on television are scary.

So rather than be diligent and protect themselves, they deny it. They are reinforced with any number of all-too-willing shills like Larry Elder, who himself is vaccinated but yammers all the time about how no one else needs to be.

In this case it's not necessarily an intelligence thing, it's a mental well being and well adjustedness measure.

I am sure there are a multitude of reasons for people not taking the suggested measures to protect themselves. This, psychologically maladjusted, might be one of them.

Yesterday I was doing a chainsaw carving demonstration a a big art and craft show. I carve under a canopy wrapped in deer fence this woman and two small children were very close while I was getting my gear ready my wife went over and told her it is going to get too loud for the kids. She told my wife to mind her business and she as the grandmother knew how to take care of the kids. This all happened without me knowing.

I get ready to start my saw and see them and wave them away she jumps up in a huff grabs the kids and marches off. Later she walked by and said to my wife I wont be buying any of your stuff! Like she would have anyway........ People..

Watching Republicans scream at Antony Blinken yesterday shows they know what works with the fools.

But I did read the polls are with Biden. Republicans ignore who lied us into this 20 year war and ranted only about getting people out. They ignore the thousands that were evacuated.
