(115,691 posts)That is to say, people are blowing hot air about the gummint can't make me do nuthin, but when their employer (and not the government) says, OK, fine, but employees who get covid and have to go to the hospital cost our self-insured health care fund $50k a pop, so if you'd rather not get vaccinated we'll have to add a $200/month surcharge to your health insurance premium and make you get tested every week, all of a sudden their freedumb is expensive and inconvenient and they'll get the jab. And this way they can tell their friends and neighbors that they really didn't want to do it, and so they can remain part of the cult in reasonably good standing.

The forecast shows that the people who choose to leave their jobs instead of getting vaccinated will be the exception, not the norm. President Bidens vaccine mandate will save more lives than the 12 million people who will get vaccinated. Those 12 million people will save other lives through their act of vaccination.
The economy will grow more because more vaccinated people equals more economic productivity.
The forecast is bad news for Republicans who are hoping to keep America sick and the economy hobbled so that they can take advantage of voter anger in the midterm election.
