(18,402 posts)due to organ transplant, current chemo regime, etc., the medical advice is that getting a booster at this time (i.e., too early) is inadvisable, indeed contraindicated. You won't be protected as much as if you wait to get the booster at the proper time.

(989 posts)I will wait for the booster.
My bad for not asking.
Personally, I will wait until October, simply because the flu season is at its worst here from late December and January through March and even into April. I like to extend the the time frame of the vaccine to those late winter, early spring months because of the climate/geographical region I live in. Also because I cant take the senior dose, which is stronger, so I want as much protection as I can get.

This shot is meant to bring resistance up to where most people should be at a time when a very contagious virus is spreading like fire. When the booster vaccine becomes available, I'll get that along with everyone else who's vaccinated.

(11,646 posts)Theres a 28 day waiting period between immunizations. I got my flu shot a few days ago so when they do roll out the Covid boosters, I wont have to wait.
