5. The cost of medical care during and after is astronomical. ICU care isn't cheap either.

The burden on your sad surviving family will be onerous.

The same class of redneck ignorant assholes who used to sneer at hippies and tell us "get a job" now cannot get a clue or a cure. The kicker is WE will be the ones to pay the bills they leave behind, the price of rebuilding medical services, and the ongoing costs of extended care for the many Long-COVID survivors who were too distracted by all the RW hype to bother with doing the responsible thing.

and COVID patients take up resources needed by all the other health issues that didn't stop just because we're in a pandemic.

A patient's family is going to be stuck with a pricey bill whether they get better or die. Just take the free vaccine.

the government programs and grace period for that has ended. It's up to insurers and copay from patients, as many conservatives are learning the hard way healthcare is better off without a bill.

It would be a serious silver lining on this pandemic cloud if we end up with single payer because of this experience.

Not a good time to be hospitalized with COVID anywhere but it's way worse in red states.

If your relatives all croak, it's all yours.

Which should worry us - Reds may be reduced in numbers but they can put inheritance cash to work in political donations.
