I got medical attention today...

Ok, I'm going to say it. The entire system is F&$%ed.

It was a CVS Minute Clinic. We were told that the range of price would be $89 to $139. The nurse practitioner took 5 minutes (if you include that she took my temp and BP) to confirm what I thought was true. The charge was $139.

How the hell could anyone get to the $89 level?????

Health care is a human right.

This sucks.

And for the record, the $139 plus the prescription is going to cause problems for us this month. We were starting to save up for winter heating.

We can't be the only people who make this choice.

It's just all wrong.

I got to a point in life where I had some money for a few luxuries, I bought a couple of down comforters and throw blankets, a couple of heavy wool blankets, wool long underwear, and a few other things like warm socks so I would never be cold again.

I turn the heat way down in winter and am still warm. Something I picked up while traveling in Europe. If it gets too hot, just stick an arm of a leg out for a while.

of a simplification.)

If Medicare, Medicare, ACA, or some other insurer isn’t involved, our system sucks financially. Even, when insurance is involved, the system is wasteful and outcomes are questionable.

And indeed it sucks.

Can you get Medicaid? That was a lifesaver for me.

I heard a saying a while ago, and it’s so true....
A Republican says, “That never happened to me, so I don’t care.”
A Democrat says, “That shouldn’t happen to anybody, and I do care.”

We should ALL be able to get the help we need without having to worry about costs. That’s just debilitating!
