We were very close to an all out war! Thank goodness General Miley was willing to throw his career away and stopped Trump.

(31,909 posts)I recently saw some RWNJ calling Milley a disgrace and a traitor and I wondered what that was all about ... now I know.
I guess the RWNJs would have been 100% on board if Trump decided to nuke China.
Just chilling...

(82,849 posts)Afterwards, Milley said he didn't know what the stunt was all about until after it happened. I have my doubts about that.

(6,384 posts)...and we don't know the full story yet.
A nuclear launch on China would no doubt result not just retaliating on us, but go for broke and hit both Taiwan and Japan. North Korea would then rain shell fire on Seoul. Eventually, even Russia would get pulled into this and we can kiss our ass goodbye. It would be a good time to live in Mexico or further south.

On the other hand, I don't think Putin would be talked into launching nukes against us. He gains nothing by doing that.

(6,384 posts)Nuclear fallout wouldn't be too good given the proximity of Russia to China. And they are also a big trading partner. And if it should go badly for China, having US military assets that close will make them very skittish. World War One happened because all the dominos started to fall.
