All of which could have been used to actually do good for the people of California. Is the 250 million dollars cost correct? That is a crime in itself.
This recall was about Republicans doing mischief just because they could. California needs to change the recall provisions and make the standard for a recall to actually address malfeasance of some kind. Simply gathering enough signatures is not an adequate standard in the time of ugly tribalism.
I am so glad this recall was a colossal failure. Republicans should be made to pay for this bullshit.

We were pissed about Trump... and this recall hasn't improved our mood or made us complacent.

(15,031 posts)Newsom needs to be hard at work making the difficult decisions we need made in this state to fix our many problems. He's been unable to do so the past few weeks, playing politics instead to ensure he stays in office. I'm sure now, content in the knowledge he is backed by an unmistakable majority, he will implement many of the policies we needed weeks ago.
I don't blame him for holding off. He needed to be certain he'd remain in office before he moves as strongly as is needed to address the drought and the pandemic. I hold the idiots who insisted on this useless charade completely at fault. Now I just hope they are impacted by every move Newsom makes going forward.
