I meet weekly with a group of 12 ... 3 had Covid deaths of family or friends.

One of the 3 has lost 3 siblings during the pandemic — a sister this week (unvacced); another lost an aunt in FL (unvacced) and the other lost the father of a childhood friend (vac status unknown).

This is a diverse group demographically and geographically. Those dead are black, white and Hispanic.

I was astonished to hear of so many from this small circle in such a short time since last week.

Gosh. Unvaccinated. What could possibly go wrong? PoindexterOglethorpe Sep 2021 #1
I know. I get tired of it but it's never been this close personally. nt live love laugh Sep 2021 #2
I'm sorry that it's been close, but there is zero excuse PoindexterOglethorpe Sep 2021 #4

at this point for not being vaccinated.

And the unvaccinated should not be allowed in hospitals. Period. No vaccine? Stay home and recover on your own. Or die on your own, I don't care.

Pretty much every one I know has been vaccinated, and if I learn of unvaccinated I would have no problem saying the same thing to them.

Sort of like, for many years, I'm willing to tell smokers that when they are dying of lung cancer, I will visit them in the hospital and tell them one more time what idiots they were for smoking,

Some things require hard truths.

May they all come through this just fine.

We just learned close friends both have Covid; they're both post-retirement age and she has unstable health problems. They're both doing okay so far at home. Not vaccinated, but they're lovely people who mostly stay isolated in their little house by a lake and she's honestly afraid of it for herself because of past complications.
