Milley's dillema: Protecting this country from a mad president will always look like treason

to the president's supporters. Our checks and balances have failed us several times in the last couple of decades, so too often, there isn't a clear path for people to see the difference between party vs. patriotism. Too often, the people who should be providing those checks and balances get swept by other traditions that give the appearance that they're supporting the wrong camp. So, whoever is going to protect us from the decisions of a mad king has no option but to work behind the scenes.

This isn't the way it should be. But now we see the damage that comes when Democratic leaders aren't prepared to stand up and object to things they know are wrong.

Sacrifices have always needed to be made to keep our country free, and honorable men have accepted dishonor or worse in exchange for ensuring the lives and safety of their fellow Americans.

The “last guardrail,” indeed.

those who covered up just how mad he was.
i'm looking at you dr feelgood jackson, for starters.
but those at reed who covered up that trip to the er, well, shame, shame, and more shame.
they had every reason to declare him incompetent, including in his own medical decisions.

it was mentioned on jonathan capehart's show that the 1/6 committee asked for records relating to, i believe the wording is- the stability and sanity of the president.

and honestly, i know i'm pretty alone in this, i would rather have him judged crazy than guilty.
we HAVE.TO.RECKON w the fact that the president was completely bonkers, and no one stopped him.

I guarantee General Milley wasn’t the only guardrail put in place.
