Voters resoundingly rejected the Republican Partys attempt to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), and one of the people who challenged him for his office is really not taking it well. Caitlyn Jenner had a weak showing, only 1% of voters picked her to replace Newsom, putting her in 13th place among the challengers for the governors office.
Jenner has only received 1% of the vote, with just 56,000. She conceded at a party last night in Los Angeles and called out California voters for making the wrong decision. I cant believe that this many people actually voted to keep him in office, Jenner said.
The result might not be surprising because of the gaffes that plagued Jenners campaign, like complaining about seeing homeless people on the way to her private airplane hangar, flaking out of media appearances, lying about not voting last year, insulting other trans people and opposing trans rights, and flying to Australia during the campaign to participate in a reality show.
Jenner was able to hire experienced GOP strategists to manage her campaign, but the best strategists in the party were apparently not enough to overcome the drawbacks of a politically inexperienced candidate with no obvious constituency and no clear perspective on politics.

(102,234 posts)What a damned fool. She's as clueless as another big former sports star, Herschel Walker--who will hopefully have the same level of "success" in politics.
As an aside, I've not heard her speak in many years (never having been a reality tv viewer) and was a tiny bit surprised that her voice is identical to how it was several decades ago. Honestly, I would have thought that hormonal changes would affect it a bit. So it was a little startling.
Well, I guess she is off to humiliate some other homeless people and show public disdain for the rights of LGBTQ--she's got "hers" after all.

(20,679 posts)If they are rounding up all other numbers, and they obviously are, then it would be discriminatory to admit she got .002%
So, we'll probably never know....

(53,771 posts)apparently couldn't envision her as their governor. And who can blame them. I mean, just that voice coming out of that person is so unsettling it's hard to take.

(2,403 posts)I mean there are any number of other reasons to have not found her to be qualified to be governor.

I'm sure there are at least several hundred Californians who wouldn't have done that well.

(21,563 posts)Complete fraud, and a liar, and a snob, and an elitist jerk, and an all around bad person might get you elected in some places in the country, but California isnt one of them.

(11,736 posts)Newsome didn't run on his accomplishments because the accomplishments are obvious. He ran on the idea that electing any of the idiot Republicans who ran would destroy the accomplishments of Newsom and the Democratic Party.
Overwhelmingly, the people of California agreed.
When all you do is listen to Fox, go on Newsmax, and OANN, and have a bunch of sycophants around you, then you believe the false narrative and you look like an idiot, like Jenner, like Elder, and the rest of the Republican idiots.

(12,618 posts)Maybe one day, you'll grow up and understand that. When you do, I hope you'll:
1). Stop whining about non-existent fraud. You weren't cheated, you just suck, and you lost.
2). Have something to offer people other than the garbage policies and garbage candidates that you do.
With no love whatsoever,
California
