"...Milley discovered the President had signed a military order to withdraw all troops from

Afghanistan by January 15, 2021."

Text

Keep this in mind while Republicans excoriate Biden for the Afghanistan withdrawal:

“Right after Trump lost the election, Milley discovered the President had signed a military order to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan by January 15, 2021.”

He lost the election. Putin calls him up and says you promised me the second term you would get out of Afghanistan. Now you need to do it before you leave Jan. 21. Or else I won't do ...(whatever he had promised personally to Trump like loans or cash or new condo customers). Trump and Pompeo need to be put under oath about the Jan. 15 deadline order immediately after the election loss.

John McEntee, one of Donald Trump's most-favored aides, handed retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor a piece of paper with a few notes scribbled on it. He explained: "This is what the president wants you to do."

1. Get us out of Afghanistan.

2. Get us out of Iraq and Syria.

3. Complete the withdrawal from Germany.

4. Get us out of Africa.

It was Nov. 9, 2020 — days after Trump lost his re-election bid, 10 weeks before the end of his presidency and just moments after Macgregor was offered a post as senior adviser to acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller.

"I lost, so I want to burn it all down for the next guy."

Horrifying article, especially to find that tfg had inserted Steve Bannon (an Erik Prince booster, naturally) into National Security Council meetings. Yoiks. Thank goodness even tfg eventually recognized he needed to be fired.

Reading how senior officials and toadies were misleading tfg about the real numbers of troops in Syria at the time makes the current outcry toward Milley even more nonsensical. The musical chairs hirings/firings and real goings on behind the scenes were far more dangerous than any of Milley's actions. None of the likes of Esper or McEntee were concerning themselves with what was best for the US or US foreign policy. It was all about turf wars and alternately confusing or appeasing the orange toddler for their own ends. What a mess.

Bannon perhaps.
RatFucker Stone - probably not.
S. Miller - maybe involved.

But most of the planning had to come from elsewhere.

My guess is some libertarian plutocrats in the US and support from Vlad the Pute.
