Just when I thought I couldn't hate the COVIDIOTS any MORE, they're possibly killing my Aunt

My 80 y.o. Aunt (fully vaxxed, fully liberal, and totally cool), my mom's only sibling, and the only person from the older generation I have left apart from my mom has been in the hospital for 7 weeks in Sonora, CA, after a simple surgery gone wrong (per Mom's opinion) has cascaded into a series of problems, infections, and follow up surgeries.

This is the convo we just had ... note that my mom was a nurse and hospital administrator for nearly 50 years, so she knows of whence she speaks. Ben and Melissa are her kids, my only first cousins. And Don is our family lawyer.

BTW, nobody has been able to visit her in person since week 1, BECAUSE COVIDIOTS ... But they were finally just allowed in to visit, then hit up with the 'comfort care' spiel.

Mom:
Aunt Lee is probably not going to make it. She now has pneumonia and they are trying to get us to put her on just comfort care. We haven't given up so far but she is pretty critical (for the umpteenth time)
I did get to see her yesterday and Ben and Melissa are with her today. Then they are trying to cancel our visitation unless we put her on comfort care.

Me:
Damn it! Pneumonia? Is she C19 positive?
Extorting you to resolve to let her pass away if you want to be able to visit sounds pretty shitty.

Mom:
She tested negative a couple of days ago. We are writing a letter from Don

Me:
Well, this sucks 🙁
Most hospitals are probably neck deep in pneumonia (and similar) too right now. Guessing the demand on treatment equipment is at a premium.

Mom:
Yes, and she's an old lady so they don't give a damn.
They are neck deep in Covid patients because the people of Sonora deny Covid and do nothing to stop it.

Me:
Do you have a feeling they're pushing the comfort care because they need the equipment for others?

Mom:
yes

Me:
just when I thought I couldn't hate the Covidiots any more.

Mom:
We plan to take her home to die if it comes to comfort care but it takes them 24 hours to arrange it.

And that they are trying to push her out to make room for covidiots!

Can they do that? Refuse her visitors just because they feel like it?

I'm really glad your mom has experience with the inner workings of hospitals!

I would threaten to call tv news about this! Gawd I'm furious about this! Ot perhaps skip the threat & start calling!

I cannot wrap my head around why the hell hospitals are allowing willfully unvaxed to break our healthcare system!

They should be sent home with rxs for whatever they might need.

Healing vibes to your aunt, you, & your family. 💓💓💓

My mom both knows her shit when it comes to hospitals, and also doesn't take any guff. So I'm sure she'll put the fear of God into these people if she feels it's appropriate.

The no-visitation is for certain sections of the hospital (cause Covid). But my Aunt has been in those sections this whole time ... visitation was basically allowed 1-time today, for hospital to make the 'lets move her out of here to comfort care section, then you can continue to visit, otherwise you can't come again, cause no visitors in this section she's in now' spiel to the family.

Even if it damns me, it would be worth it to know that monsters like the COVIDIOTS were also damned.

So sorry about your aunt.

It almost seems as if the hospital has substandard care and has been sending her on this downhill slide.

of that line from the classic TV show. Each episode mixed hope and tragedy the way we are seeing things today.

Perhaps it is best your aunt spend the next days at home. Hospitals are cold, impersonal places. Who knows, miracles
have happened (with or without gods) and she might even get better.

And I’m so sorry you are having to deal with this.

So many beds are being taken up by these assholes they’ve lessened choices for others
For instance, dialysis centers. I know of at least one center that now only provide dialysis three days a week,(from seven) hospitalized patients stay in the hospital because they can’t find a dialysis chair.

This is an infuriating and unnecessary situation. The Covidiots are literally killing people not just by exposing them to Covid, but also by filling up the hospitals. I don't know how you and your mother keep from screaming at them.

I hope for the best for your aunt and peace to you and the rest of the family.

This wasn't due to COV idiots, she was in an assisted living facility and they were rigorous in testing , vaxxing ( she'd had one of two) and my sister was the only one still in the area and they'd have her masked, gowned, and scrubbed down down before she could see her for 30 minutes.
She went quickly, three ICU visits in three weeks. My sister couldn't even see her there. The last time they brought her back a nurse noticed her feet were blue, a sign she didn't have much longer. And she died the next day.
She was old, she was 96, but had always been in good health until her last three weeks. She had a desire to live to live to be 100, and she may have made it if Covid hadn't come along.
I do hate the general population COV idiots. For their callous, selfish, slavish devotion to The Dotard and their feelings, expressed or otherwise, that at her age she didn't have much to live for.
I've been living in Bangkok for over three years, before Covid hit and the attitude of the citizenry here couldn't be any different than in the States.

My apologies about your aunt.

We believe our relative got infected with covid in the hospital where relative was prior to testing positive for covid. Relative also ended up with pneumonia but made it through covid alive.
