Truly insane.
Just putting that out there.

(89,244 posts)And no longer has the protections against legal trouble that being President gave him. And the chance to grift and use other powers for his own benefit.

(53,764 posts)Speaker Pelosi said as much and Gen. Milley agreed with her.
Of course he's insane. Remember the the bleach suggestion to rid the body of covid, and the internal light also. And the hoax claims. Who else but a cray-cray would put that out there when he was told early on that it was real and deadly. Where are we to shove a light, up our ass? And holding all the mass super speader rallies with no masks. The WH itself was a virus hotspot itself because of him.
The MFer has noticeably declined in mental acuity since his hey day in the '90s. And there are numerous videos shown even here to show it. His old man had dementia.

(46,067 posts)Until the 2020 election loss, Trump has been able to manipulate, bully, threaten, bribe, etc. to reach his ends. The worst he has experienced until then was having to wait to achieve and obtain what he wanted.
This loss of status, power, and money is a big f*cking deal and only has added to his insanity.

(53,764 posts)of the his screw ups. The election loss was devastating to him and even now he can't admit it to himself.

(23,083 posts)He wanted the get out of jail card that another presidency represented and to collect more billions in bribes for using Russian steel for the wall and got thwarted and now just wants revenge on America because we didn't pick him.

(51,584 posts)and after listening to his niece I believe he is both crazy and he knows exactly what he is doing. He is a sociopathic, sadistic narcissist. I bet it would take a week to list all of his mental issues.

(52,183 posts)It's fun to debate whether he truly delusional or just a con man. But at the end of the day, if it all results in the same behavior, what difference does it make?

Straw Man
(6,622 posts)However, that doesn't mean he isn't delusional. Forgive the pop psychology, but it's a familiar syndrome, in which the sociopath is aware of the truth on some level, but can compartmentalize and not let it interfere with the false reality that he must steadfastly maintain in order to maintain the con. The torrent of bullshit is so overwhelming and all-consuming that he begins to believe it himself, in the face of all evidence to the contrary.

(52,183 posts)I think he's always been a con nan and knows it in terms of the crap he sells. He's always known that his buildings are crap with a thin veneer of gold plating to make them look higher quality than they are. He's surely known everything else he's sold is crap.
That's why he's always been about his brand, because the product is always crap.
The ego stuff, thinking he's super smart and the greatest and all that, that's the delusion. I think he honestly believes his bs in that department.
harumph
(1,897 posts)very effectively for the simple reason he does not care about the
consequences of his actions or the truth/facts for that matter - leaving him
to ponder only on what is best for him and him alone. Malignant narcissist.

(7,827 posts)The rest of his brain is far less damaged.
I submit for evidence the episode where he imitated a disabled person at one rah-rah rally.
