Why would you need any of those things?

The video is pretty clear, but you have to watch it to understand what the issues are.

Basically, the Beverly Hills police officer stopped the driver on a false pretense - running a traffic signal. Then, when the driver showed him his Canadian driver's license, the officer told him it was illegal to drive in California with that license. Not true, as the law states. Then, he later told him that he had the authority to tow the man's car because he was driving it without a valid license. There was nothing in the citation regarding the traffic signal violation.

He also cited him for an unauthorized, modified exhaust system. It is very unlikely that that Lamborghini had been fitted with an aftermarket exhaust system. There is no need to do so on that car for any reason.

Bottom line is that the cop wanted to harass someone driving a Lamborghini. Why? I don't know. Something about supercars just seems to get the goat of many cops, I guess.

The officer claimed that he had the driver on video running a stop sign, but then failed to issue a citation. At the very least, he should have been penalized back at the station for allowing dangerous driving offenses to go uncited, but it's quite obvious to me he knew he was lying and that the driver could prove it.

On the bright side, the officers back at the station should be applauded for their professionalism.
