A way to end California recalls without changing the Constitution

Just make whoever starts the recall with the petition pay for the election.
Whatever the Mercers or Kochs spent to get the signatures for this one, make them cough up the $300 million the voting cost.

signed the recall petition, add a $100 penalty to their CA tax return.
Recalls are for malfeasance, not policy disputes.

For participating in part of a legal election process?

As I said in another thread this morning, I can't believe some of the stuff I'm seeing from what is supposed to be a progressive site. I'm starting to believe we have lost our collective mind with some of this stuff.

In which case, substantially raising the threshold and restructuring what happens in the event of a Yes vote would be better options.

these recalls? Would that fly? Why should taxpayers be saddled with the cost?!

If someone files a recall and it loses, they pay.

It's basically a nuisance suit!
