...from the govt? A report detailing how much they've put into the government versus how much they've gotten back either personally or via federal contributions to their community.

You want to end the Republican party and their "small government" bullshit once and for all? Show the masses what they're actually getting from the government.

Sure, the rich will have reason to complain, but they'll be vastly outnumbered (and they'll still be rich).

and survivor insurance (life insurance) would cost if you obtained it in the open market instead of through Social Security. I calculated for myself that those two portions mean to me and it is about $2-$3K. S.S. does send a form out saying what the benefit would be, but pricing it in the market would be useful as well.

Also folks should look at how much an inflation adjusted annuity is worth. In another thread I did some rough calculations that shows a very competitive return for S.S. even at the higher income levels. It is a well managed program.
