Maddow for all her quirks, has her undergraduate degree from Stanford University in PUBLIC POLICY and her DOCTORATE in POLITICAL SCIENCE from Oxford University where she was a Rhodes Scholar. Now all of that doesn't ensure that you will be a reputable source of information. I mean Hawley and Cruz went to Harvard and Bush Jr. went to Yale.

I have never heard Rachel Maddow say, "My cousin's, sister's neighbor from down the street's son's nephew, told me something something, therefore, base a really important medical and public health decision on it".

Vance is squarely aligning himself with anti-intellectualism here. The whole "do your own research" bullshit is just an excuse to believe what feels good to you without accepting what PROFESSIONAL, EXPERT researchers turn out.
