"SNIP......
Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) is building a following of engaged, young, conservative activists who are willing to spend their own money in order to see him speak at a series of summits, Politico reports.
It is the latest logical extension of the celebrification of politics that underscores how the currency of campaigns has shifted from ideas and traditional forms of communication to communities and shared moments.
......SNIP"
Of course they have to run on an 'experience'. Every policy gets scored very quickly these days of big data and republicans don't want to make anything better for people so they can't run on policy.

(15,669 posts)Liberals have groups that are natural with no work. BLM for example didnt have a long range plan. It was just made by the populous. I find repugs so strange.

(58,785 posts)If so, he's extremely bad news at an extremely dangerous time for our nation. I've been waiting for one of the far right's ambitious authoritarian wannabes to start moving out ahead of the pack.
Or is he a charismatic but sane RWer who can draw energy away from the far right and their brink?
I don't know this guy. The kind of people he's drawing and how they behave on social media would be a big indicator, though.
