One of the three best post-war German films. Its savage humor really devastates the whole fanatic nationalist mentality.

The other two are “Die Brücke” and “Das Leben der Anderen.” Die Brücke (The Bridge) is also one of the best films with an anti-war message ever made, not unexpected from a film from 1959, when all the people making it actually experienced the end of the war in Germany. Das Leben der Anderen examines the former East German state, and what it was like to actually be part of its huge surveillance apparatus. I’m not sure if Die Brücke got an Oscar, but I’m pretty sure the other two did.

This is a bullshit post. Either say what you have to say or just don’t say anything. Obviously you are implying that if you say what you are thinking that you will break the terms of the site. So why do that?

38. I'm predicting that the turnout will be light ...

... for several reasons.

First, there is no real purpose to this one. The first one had a clear mission: stop the certification of the election. They thought that they could do it. They were wrong. This time it's just a bunch of lame-assed speeches.

On that note, there won't be any political heavyweights there to draw in the rubes this time. Not even Matt Gaetz or Marjorie Taylor Greene want to touch this one. I wouldn't expect a Giuliani appearance either, unless they can entice him with Eastern European teenagers.

Finally, they can expect significant a significant and well-prepared law enforcement presence this time. If there are shenanigans, the perpetrators won't be able to go home and hope they don't get rounded up later. They will be going straight to jail. I think that prospect will deter many.

I predict a nothing-burger. I could be wrong, but I hope I'm right. A violent confrontation would just stir the jackasses up even more. It might deter the less-committed, but it could provoke the real wack-jobs to further acts of terrorism.
