Here's what I'd like to know (Covid)

How many of these fucking anti-vaxxers, who sucked their final breath on a ventilator, shucked their mortal coils without leaving a last will and testament?

Based on their absolute stupidity, I suspect a good majority of them left their families in financial ruin.

their estate automatically goes to their next of kin, usually the spouse if there is one, or divided among the children if there's no spouse; siblings if there's no spouse or children. The bigger problem for the surviving family will be medical bills and the loss of the dead person's income.

from their own assets unless there was some other arrangement like a guarantee. So if a person has a savings account with $5,000 in it and no other assets, and their hospital bills amount to $7,000 by the time they die, the hospital gets the whole $5K (assuming there are no other creditors who make claims), but the family won't have to pay the remaining $2K from their own pockets.
