Did Rachel just report that someone said....

... that in some area of Idaho in two weeks ALL hospital beds would be taken by COVID patients? If I heard right, why would COVID patients get prioritized over heart attacks and car crashes???? Why wouldn't the unvaccinated just be sent home????

Presumably I misunderstood?

TIA

she also said that they were switching to a model where those most likely to survive being first instead of sickest first. I have no idea what that would do in terms of covid vs non covid.

Idaho should put up tents in the parking lot. Palliative care only for unvaccinated Covid patients. Sending them home will just spread it.

The entire state has entered Crisis Standards of Care. Since Covid patients are the sickest in our hospitals, they come first. But that is about to change. Now, a decision will be made about who is likely to survive. Potential survivors will be treated and those unlikely to survive will be made comfortable and left to die.

All elective surgeries are cancelled and most in-office procedures have been postponed at Drs offices. Only the most critical life or death medical procedures are being carried out. The medical community is urging locals to cease all activities that may lead to serious injury since there is no space or staff for treating sprains, strains, and broken bones.

It’s bad here.

I hope you and yours stay safe.

I suspect this is going to be very wide spread soon.

Thanks for your kind concern. My extended family are all fully vaccinated, masking, and staying out of crowds. I hope others don’t let their guard down and speak out against the insanity of the MAGA Anti-Vaxx crowd.

We can stop this virus in its tracks but everyone needs to lend a well washed hand.
