"SNIP.....

“President Biden failed to persuade Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) to agree to spending $3.5 trillion on the Democrats’ budget reconciliation package during their Oval Office meeting on Wednesday,” Axios reports.

“Defying a president from his own party — face-to-face — is the strongest indication yet Manchin is serious about cutting specific programs and limiting the price tag of any potential bill to $1.5 trillion. His insistence could blow up the deal for progressives and others.”

I think the residents would not want to lose a program going to their state because Manchin voted no.

Free health care for kids under 5. Everything is free. I’m not saying that’s bad but it’s a specific program in WV. There are many others.

The are a few Dems in Name Only slithering around our hallowed halls of legislature.

Slurping up at the Democratic Party's big buffet tabel of benefits while pissin in the punch bowl.

A slogan, both debasing & simple enough to slap on a hoodie or some article of clothing to parade around in.

It's all about targeted sloganeering for profit & impact.

It's juvenile & intentional.

Here... LBJ is "reasoning" with Sen Richard Russell, who led the filibuster against the Civil Rights Bill.

I love Joe, but he's gotta do an LBJ on that tiny-state dictator.

(And don't think I loved LBJ. He sent me to a hot place where the locals tried repeatedly to kill me.)

However they've know each other in the Senate for years, so both are well aware of each other's skills.
I believe Biden will have what he wants, yet allow Manchin to take away some smidge of dignity back home to his 'base'.

Although he should just put him in a knuckle-breaker till he drops to the floor. But that's just me...

being convinced to vote for the bill, didn't matter how close LBJ got up in Russell's face like in the photo. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

And if it was reasonable, he'd exchange it for their vote. I'm getting this from President Carter's autobiography. One exchange that sticks in my mind was a congressman who had written a book, so the president read it and took the time to discuss it with him.

And as for the debt ceiling, well...

Edit - And as for Amy, Joe is a well known 'pro-life' (aka, anti-woman) Democrat. He's also come out against LGBT issues, and was entirely against the Equality Act. He had a very convenient out on that vote, but given the stances he's taken on other issues his disagreement with Amy's appointment was more likely due to her gender than the timing of things. Doubly so when he had no issues what-so-ever with Kavanaugh's history of sexual harassment and assault.

not only to the Democratic party, but to the People of the United States as well.

He will have to be buried in an undisclosed location to prevent his grave being used as national toilet tourist attraction. Any compensation he receives for betraying us won't do him any good after he's dead, and he'll go down in history next to Benedict Arnold as one of the most notorious traitors who sold his country and people out.
