Hi folks,
So my hubby came down with covid earlier this week. The good news is he and our whole family are vaccinated so i'm not worrie. My daughter & i have rapid testing appointments this morning. We have no symptoms and he had mild symptoms. So all is OK except that i really didn't think about needing to have adequate provisions (medication for coldlike symptoms - Nyquil for ex., and enough food to last us while we quarantine. Luckily i did have alot in the freezer but needed fresh veggies, soups and things like that). I ran by this article by Stephanie Ruehle re: needing to be prepared and to have a game plan in the case you do come down with it, because chances are you will.

(13,036 posts)I feel fine & hopefully w remain so next few days. Its hard for the hubby to quarantine, being confined to one room for 10 days so i do allow him to put on his mask &go out to the backyard to stretch his legs.

(4,873 posts)I used Instacart for the first time this month and it was very good. They have a special for new users where they waive delivery fees. I just tipped the shopper/driver a lot.
Make a list of everything you wish you had and have it delivered. Take that chore off your worry list.
Good luck and keep us posted!

(31,810 posts)It was prior to the lockdowns in NYC and NJ (I'm in NJ). My husband - not known for his inifinite wisdom in general . . .
Had enough wisdom to go to Costco and buy things like Aspirin, Mucinex, Cough Medicine etc. etc. I needed it at the time and he figured - I might as well since they didn't have toilet paper. He was stunned standing in line at the people who did NOT purchase at home health care/over the counter items.
We preserve food, can food, he makes his own sopressata, cappicola, etc. etc. His other big things were huge bags of flower, powdered milk, dried coffee creamer (for me), sugar, salt, and better than bullion. That's all I we needed to cook - since I can make my own bread and he uses his mothers pasta recipes.
