KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) -- A company spokeswoman says insurgents attacked a warehouse full of food and supplies for troops with rocket-propelled grenades at the main U.S. base in Afghanistan late Friday, sparking a fire that destroyed the warehouse and everything inside.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid says in an email that the fire at the Supreme Group compound destroyed a "large stock of food meant for U.S. troops."

Supreme Group spokeswoman Victoria Frost says no one was injured and the fire was contained by morning, though some areas were still smoldering. She says they are working to make up for the lost inventory with supplies from other warehouses.
