Funny to see the pretzels some are twisting into here to avoid the ugly truth.

(12,373 posts)I've spent the last 50 years studying history and wars in general...
And the closer we get to today, the fewer reasons I see for war.
I mean, it's not the same as when Charles, King of the Franks defeated the Umayyad Caliphate at the Battle of Tours in 732 to prevent the Muslim takeover of Europe or WW2...
War may have been necessary at one time but in our current interconnected world... I can't think of much of a reason for war today.
