Doctor Who Said Masks Cause Carbon Dioxide Poisoning Has License Revoked

https://www.newsweek.com/oregon-doctor-license-revoked-mask-covid-steven-arthur-latulippe-1630195

A doctor in Oregon has had his license revoked for continually refusing to follow COVID-19 guidelines when dealing with patients and spreading misinformation about face masks.

The Oregon Medical Board issued a final order on September 2 against Steven Arthur LaTulippe for "dishonorable or unprofessional conduct; repeated negligence in the practice of medicine; and gross negligence in the practice of medicine." He was also fined $10,000.

LaTulippe's license was first suspended last December. The suspension was upheld in May after the board found that his family practice, Southview Medical Arts in Dallas, operated in such a way that it constituted an "immediate danger" to the public and presented a "serious danger" to public health and safety.

He also spread misinformation to his patients about masks being ineffective against COVID-19 and falsely claimed they could cause carbon dioxide poisoning.

I figured it would be an essential tool to have around in the spring of 2020.

I have COPD, and if I can wear a well fitting N95 mask (even different types) and still breathe comfortably, anyone can.

These idiot mask deniers just repeat any bullshit statement they read or hear, as long as it agrees with their preconceived infantile thoughts.

If you are operating in a hospital, I imagine you would have to abide by whatever infection control measures the hospital has (of course, someone still has to enforce those measures).

But if you are just running a private practice, you probably just have to follow whatever regulations there are according to licensure and statute.

We breathe it all the time with no ill-effects, it's just lack of oxygen would cause suffocation or hypoxia, right? CO2 isn't itself specifically harmful unless that's ALL you're breathing.

Just like water isn't "poisonous" to the body...but can cause death if you breathe it.
