(101,730 posts)I can fully understand that hiring a lawyer in such circumstances should not be judged negatively... But to not talk to the police AT ALL? Even with the most general of information? Defense lawyers (at least the least experienced ones) might advise that as the dogma they believe must apply, but I'd bet the more experienced (and successful) know it does nothing more than make them look monstrously guilty.

(115,280 posts)If there's evidence to support an arrest - and there seems to be - the police should and probably will arrest and question him. Private citizens shouldn't be harassing someone because they think he's guilty.
