5.3 million children total have contracted COVID since the pandemic hit the U.S. last year. But this past two weeks has been particularly horrid for those who cannot yet be vaccinated.

I spend my days largely in isolation, masked when I do have to go out, but voluntarily distanced from as many as I can be. It's not so much for me as it is my grandchildren, and my daughter who had major surgery just 6 months ago, and my wife, who has an autoimmune disease. I don't want to be the source of any troubles for any of them, or for anyone else, for that matter. So I do what I must to protect us all, in hopes there will be an end to this madness in the months ahead.
